Students often take a One-to-One class to increase their skill with digital cameras and their understanding of photographic composition and/or graphic arts. Students at all levels are encouraged to schedule a One-to-One class.

I teach Introduction to Digital Photography (using your specific digital camera), Introduction to Adobe Photoshop CC (or Adobe Lightroom), Black & White Photography, Introduction to CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2017, and Building a High-Performance Photographer's Computer. Contact me directly at: edruthusa@yahoo.com.

A One-to-One classes cost $200 and last about three hours - and, all your questions will be answered. I will be able to provide you with considerable insight regarding digital imaging within the three hour period. This instruction is cheaper than purchasing the wrong camera and lens or buying books that languish unread. It is a modest sum for discovering the creative potential that is within easy reach when you learn the meaningful and powerful basic building blocks of technique, design and graphic art.

One-to-One instruction has recently benefitted a real estate agent, a marketing specialist, and a criminal justice student interested in the use of digital photography for forensic examinations.

For camera instruction, students bring their camera and lenses with a fully charged battery and memory card. Provide me with the make and model of the camera when you sign up for a camera class. For instruction in Photoshop, Lightroom, Elements, Illustrator or graphic arts generally, you may bring a laptop but it is not required. Always bring a notebook and pen.

Have an emergency? I am typically available on short notice to teach those having a deadline or a need to quickly acquire new skills in graphic design, photography or Adobe Photoshop. Want to be able to list: " Knowledge of graphic arts and Adobe Photoshop CC." on your resume? We can arrange a course for that."

Individual or "one-to-one" instruction is available for a variety of topics in photography and the graphic arts. Instruction for owners new to digital photography and those wanting to use post-production software such as Adobe Lightroom CC, Photoshop CC, Elements or similar programs take one-to-one courses to gain a "foothold" on the software, to solve specific image issues or to advance themselves in the area of digital imaging or design.

The "point of focus" and the f/stop of the lens both contribute to depth of field.

Individual photographic instruction can also be conducted on short walks around town.

Illustration and Photography can be fun, profitable, creative and technically superior at the same time.

Graphic images are frequently finished in Photoshop where saturation, contrast and sharpening are added.

Design has some universal elements. On a very piratical level, design requires knowledge of color, color spaces, cropping to particular size or pixel dimensions and file formats used in graphic design.

Students often ask me if I prefer a larger full-frame camera or a smaller ASP-C camera. Actually I own and enjoy both. Each has advantages. The larger FX sensor is better able to capture images in reduced light. The smaller DX sensor allows for smaller, cheaper, and lighter cameras and lenses.

Complex graphic images are, in reality, combinations of basic concepts.
